Event Dates: Monday, May 25 – Saturday, June 6, 2026
Qualifying Week: May 25 – May 29 (Practice sessions, usually in the evenings).
Race Week: May 30 – June 6 (Racing on alternating days).
Senior TT (The Main Event): Saturday, June 6, 2026.
This is the hardest part of the TT. Ferries often sell out of vehicle spots a year in advance.
Ferry (Steam Packet Company):
Motorcycles/Cars: Deposit bookings for 2026 opened in mid-2025. If you do not have a booking yet, you are likely on a waitlist.
Foot Passengers: Much easier to book. You can leave your bike in Liverpool or Heysham and walk onto the ferry.
Routes: Liverpool, Heysham (UK), Dublin, Belfast (Ireland).
Flights:
Flights into Ronaldsway Airport (IOM) are available from major UK hubs (London, Manchester, Liverpool, Dublin).
Airlines include Loganair, EasyJet, and Aer Lingus. These tickets usually go on sale ~11 months prior (approx. June 2025).
Hotels in Douglas are likely 95% sold out for 2026 already. You must look at alternatives immediately.
Homestay Scheme: Local residents rent out their spare bedrooms or entire houses. This is "official" and inspected by the government. It is the best way to find a bed if you are late to book.
Camping:
Bring Your Own Tent: Many rugby and football clubs turn their pitches into campsites (e.g., Douglas Rugby Club). You can usually find space here even late in the game.
Glamping/TT Villages: Companies set up "pop-up hotels" with pre-erected tents or cabins. Popular options include the IOMTT Village near the paddock.
4. Watching the Races
Unlike MotoGP, you do not need a ticket to watch the TT.
Hedge Viewing (Free): You can sit on a hedge or wall anywhere around the 37-mile course (outside of prohibited zones) for free. You are inches from the bikes.
Grandstands (Paid): If you want a reserved seat, food, and toilets, you can buy tickets for the main Grandstand (Start/Finish line) or smaller stands like Creg-ny-Baa or Braddan Bridge.
Note: These tickets typically go on sale in late 2025 or early 2026.
Practice Week (Mon-Fri): Roads close in the evening (usually 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM). You have the days free to explore the island.
Race Week (Sat, Mon, Wed, Fri, Sat): Roads close all day (approx 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM).
Mad Sunday: The Sunday between race weeks. There is usually no racing, and the mountain road is open one-way to the public (no speed limit).
